Journalists are grappling with what it means to ply their trade in the social media age. There was a time when journalists chose the stories, and filtered what audiences heard. Whether it’s from eye witnesses to breaking news or a blogger working solo, information is published and available from countless sources. Tom Rosenstiel has co-authored a couple of books about the practice of journalism. He is a contributor to a new volume called “The New Ethics of Journalism: Principles for the 21st Century.
