This article published in The Guardian and written by Katharine Viner caught my attention. It’s titled “How Technology Disrupted the Truth” and tells a cautionary tale of the impact of social media and an era “when everyone has their own facts.” A reminder that truth matters, and discerning people still need to ask -- how do you know that. In this case the feeding frenzy was about former British Prime Minister David Cameron and an alleged university prank involving a pig. Juicy and salacious for sure -- but the original author had absolutely no proof it was true, nor concern about putting it out there. The author of the article reflects on what that tells us about the state of media, and the impact all this had on Brexit. It’s a disturbing read.
